Poor Jordan not getting a single comment from such a good question. Maybe a hard question, too. Maybe in a fundamental way, they both begin from being unhappy with the way things were. They both want equality, but obtain it in different ways. Also I wholly disagree with the way that the Republic would solve the problem of rich people, I do think that both societies attempt to offer solutions against inequality. They both eliminate classism, at least in the way that we have it now. I think the two societies would hate the inner workings of one another. Surely, the Diggers would see the Republic's gold people as a new form of class imposition and would also see through the lies told by the propaganda of that ruling class.
